Khadija El Abyad :

Khadija El Abyad est née en 1991 à Agadir. Aujourd’hui elle vit et travaille à Rabat. Artiste visuelle pluridisciplinaire, elle est diplômée en 2017 de l’Institut National des Beaux-Arts de Tétouan. Son travail s’élabore autours du corps, il se nourrit d’éléments à fortes connotations comme les cheveux, les collants chair fins, la peau du mouton… L’artiste manipule ces éléments fondateurs comme des notes posées sur des partitions jouant sur les aspects des “écrans du corps’’ dans une multitude de variations souvent abstraites. Elle découpe, tisse, brode, coud, brosse, compose, manipule, enregistre quotidiennement afin de transformer ses interrogations personnelles en langage plastique pour un devenir autonome des œuvres.

Khadija El Abyad was born in 1991 in Agadir. Today, she lives and works in Rabat. A multidisciplinary visual artist, she graduated in 2017 from the National Institute of Fine Arts in Tetouan. Her work is developed around the body, it feeds on elements with strong connotations such as hair, thin flesh tights, sheepskin... The artist manipulates these founding elements like notes placed on scores playing on the aspects of ‘body screens’ a multitude of often abstract variations. She cuts, weaves, embroiders, sews, brushes, composes, manipulates, records daily in order to transform her personal questions into visual arts language for an autonomous future of the works.
